Richard M Campbell

Richard M. ‘Shark’ Campbell of Plainwell, MI passed away Friday, November 17, 2006 at his home. Mr. Campbell was born September 11, 1945 in Plainwell to Russell and Marion (Brown) Campbell and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was employed with Plainwell Paper Co. as a millwright machinist, retiring in 2000 after 35 years of service. Shark was a member of the Gun River Conservation Club, the NRA, and Ducks Unlimited. He was a collector and story teller and enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica and making crafts. On December 8, 1973 in Otsego he married Marilyn Nyberg, who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Pam (Lenny) Bierma, Dianna (Terry) Sturman, Patty Fitzpatrick, Jamie (Roger) Austin and Sheila (Don) Iszler; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Linda) Campbell and Dwayne (Priya) Campbell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rick Campbell; and two brothers, Skip and Russell Campbell. Friends may meet the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Rev. Dan Minor officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell. Contributions in memory of Richard may be made to the Gun River Conservation Club or Wings of Hope Hospice.
