Sherry G. Hicks of Alamo (formerly of Otsego) passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010, in Kalamazoo. Sherry was born March 24, 1945 to Allison “Glenn” and Edna V. (Weikel) Hicks and was a lifelong resident of the area. For several years she was employed as a ward clerk at PippCommunityHospital in Plainwell. She attended the Trowbridge United Methodist Church and was a member of the Women’s Society there. Sherry enjoyed singing, sewing, crocheting, knitting and was an excellent note writer. Surviving are her sister, Pat (Lew) Roberts of Otsego; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ron Hicks; and her sister, Dora Lee Sturgis. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Trowbridge United Methodist Church, Pastor Tony Shumaker officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at Trowbridge Methodist Cemetery. Contributions in Sherry’s memory may be made to the Trowbridge United Methodist Church Building Fund or Alamo Nursing Home.
