Donal G. 'Don' McBride of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Kalamazoo. Donal was born January 21, 1926 in Allegan, the son of Harry and Beulah (Speese) McBride. Don served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Allegan American Legion for over 20 years. For 26 years he was employed with Parker Brass in Otsego. On February 20, 1953 he married Betty McBride, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Don (Deb) McBride of Maryland, Peg (Bernie) Betke of Pennsylvania, Doug (Cristi) McBride of Nevada; 6 grandchildren, Tony (Carolyn) Betke, Dan (Annette) Betke, Mindy (James) Burns, Sarah Betke, Anna Betke, Andy (Julie) McBride; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret McBride of Kalamazoo; special sister-in-law, Janet McBride of Allegan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond, sister Dorothy Greene and a brother, Dick McBride. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service at Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts can be made to any food bank or charity of choice.
