  7. Troy and Robin Wymer says:

Nancy was a wonderful person. She loved and cared about her family very much. I remember when I first met her when Shane and Amanda started at Vanguard Charter Academy. What a wonderful personality. One day my wife was driving and ran over a broken padlock that got stuck in her tire. She pulled over on a side street and knocked on a door to use the phone. Nancy opened the door. Wow! Our kids go to the same school. What a small world. From that point, she became our new babysitter till the kids were old enough not to need one. Later our kids went to the same school again at Byron Center Charter School. And we would bump into her now and again, either at Wendy’s, a birthday party or a school carnival. Nancy was a wonderful person. She is now enjoying an even better life with our Lord. She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Doug, Tyler and Brandon. May God bless you and comfort you in this time of sorrow.

  11. Dana Winright says:

    Dear Doug & Boys~

Thank you for finding me on Nancy’s phone to let me know about Nancy’s passing. I followed Nancy on Facebook and have been praying since she told me about her diagnosis.

One thing I asked God was that if he was going to heal her of cancer than to take away her Bipolar Disorder, also, otherwise let it be that she be with Him so she didn’t have to suffer from that any longer. I have no doubt that he has chosen to heal her but in his own understanding.

May you find some comfort in knowing that she is no longer hurting and is waiting for our arrival so we can all be together again.

    The Winight Family

  12. Iva Dickinson says:

    Ellen, Lisa and family,

I was so very sorry to hear that Nancy had gone on ahead of us, but happy for her that she is free of pain, illness and tears. I will always remember her humor. I had been corresponding with her on FB recently and it was the same ol’ Nancy, picking up where we had left off the last time. She was very positive about her illness and wanted God’s will. So sad for her husband and sons. But, Praise God, the separation is only for a little while, and she is FREE.

  13. Jill K Smith says:

To me, Nancy’s legacy is that the joy of the Lord was her strength, passion to see the lost saved, and that no matter how deep of a pit you might be in, the Lord will give you the strength and the wings to soar out of it. The memory of her laugh will be in my heart forever. Doug, Tyler and Brandon…I love you guys. Many prayers are going up on your behalf.

  18. Rincones Family says:

    Dear Brandon, Tyler and Family,

First time I met Nancy was at Vanguard Charter Academy…..Carlos and Brandon were both in Mrs. Rosema’s class, both Carlos and Brandon were treated poorly by their teacher Mrs Rosema, Nancy wanting to protect her child, and decided to take the boys out of vanguard and placed them at Byron center charter…..Nancy and I talked a lot about switching the boys to a new school, I decided follow them to Byron center charter as well, the boys are much happier at their new school. Nancy was an Awesome Mom/Person we carpooled with them for 1 year at Byron center Charter….When they lived in Wyoming, she would invite us over to go swimming in their pool.

Our prayers are with you and your family, your Mom/Wife is in a much better place….

  19. Jim Clark says:

    Dear Doug,
I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved Nancy. We are out of town this weekend and will not be able to personally join the visitation.
In Christ, we can say “death, where is thy sting and grave, where is thy power!” Because of Jesus, Nancy is in His loving embrace and for this we rejoice. Meanwhile we will pray for God’s comfort to smother your heart and the hearts of your children.
    Jim Clark and family

  20. Dawn Carpenter says:

Dear Ellen, Lisa and family of Nancy,

Nancy and I were college roommates at GRSBM back in 1981. I have many fond memories of our time together. Even back then, she was passionate about her faith and always was witnessing to tell the good news of Christ’s love for us. Though we lost touch until a year ago on facebook, our hearts were forever bound together by that year in the dorm. Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.

  21. Kim Mack (Venlet) says:

Nancy and I went to school together. I remember all the times we got in trouble for laughing in class. She was so much fun. I will really miss her. Prayers to her family for peace and comfort. KIm

  22. Dan and Barb Banta says:

So many memories of family, concerts, holidays, birthdays, etc. in which Nancy was present and the life of the party. She was always so “unashamed” her Lord and Savior. And always so caring about others. Now she will no longer feel pain or depression for she dwells with the Most High. The Unity Festival won’t be the same without her this year. But we know she’s singing and dancing anyway!! Peace be with you Doug, Tyler and Brandon.

  23. Nancy Shepard says:

I was so sad to see that Nancy had passed away. I’d been thinking about her and was going to post a hello to her on her Facebook sight and saw the comments about her death. It was the day after. No wonder she’d been on my mind. She was such a good friend to me when I lived in GR. What I remember most was her big laugh. She loved life and loved her husband and kids. Wish I’d have stayed in better touch since I moved to AZ, but glad we connected on Facebook near the end. I plan to donate to the bldg fund in her honor. Love and miss you Nancy!

  24. Brandon Cardosa says:

  25. Lori Landwer says:
