Born September 6, 1938, Tony (Lloyd Anthony) Weber, Jr. passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 in Allegan, MI.

Born in Martin, MI, he was a graduate of Otsego High School class of 1956, and soon after began his career at what would become Plainwell Paper Mill until he retired after 42 years in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Burza), whom he married on March 19, 1960, celebrating over 55 years of marriage.

Tony is remembered by his commitment to hard work and providing for his family. At an early age, he and his brother would travel door-to-door in their neighborhood selling the family’s extra vegetables from their garden, as well as having a local paper route. In his teens he held a job at a men’s haberdashery and a local grocery store.  Upon graduation, he acquired a position at Plainwell Paper Company (then Michigan Paper) as a trimmer helper apprentice, advancing to a millwright apprentice, and earning his way to Manager of Maintenance until his retirement.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as working with his hands.  Tony and Janet enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., having reached their goal of visiting all 50 states, Alaska being his favorite.

A private internment with family will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery.

Jan I am sorry to hear of your loss, the love of your life. To the rest of the Weber Family please accept our condolences. Roger went to High School with Tony, many times Roger’s mother said she never knew how many kids would be sleeping on her living room floor. Tony, Stan Weber and others would spend the night. Roger has many memories of them. Tony’s parents were also just great people, many times after Roger and I were married we would go to their house to visit. They always made us feel so welcome. I will see some of you when I get back from Florida, will have hugs for you.

  9. Rev. Brian Tice says:

You are all in my prayers as you process this loss. May Tony’s memory be a blessing to all of you.
