Lester P. LaCourse of Martin, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 at his home with his family by his side. Lester was born June 22, 1942 in Huron, Ohio, the son of Lawrence and Violet LaCourse. He served in the U. S. Army during the start of the Vietnam War. One of his favorite jobs when he was living in Sandusky, OH was being a milkman. He retired from Checker Motors in Kalamazoo after 35 years. His hobby was flower gardening and he enjoyed being with his dogs. Lester had been married to Susan Maurer for 35 years and she survives. Also surviving are a son Michael LaCourse of Otsego and his fiancée, Kathy Balinski, 2 daughters, Christina Drewyor and her husband Paul of Martin, Julia LaCourse and her fiancé Scott VanBrocklin of Otsego; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Martha (Richard) Lutz of Otsego, Peg (Ralph) Bauer of Lorraine, OH; several nieces and nephews.  Preceding him in death were his son, Daniel in 2002 and his brother Charles in 2007. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside will be held Thursday at SouthMartinCemetery, Rev. James Dyke officiating. Friends may meet with his family on Saturday from 3 to 6 P.M. at the  Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego.
