Kenneth D. Galloway

Kenneth D. Galloway of Otsego, Michigan, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at his home. Mr. Galloway was born December 6, 1942 in Plainwell, the son of Kenneth F. and Betty J. (Edson) Galloway. Ken was a 1961 graduate of Otsego High School where he played baseball, basketball and football. After high school, he played minor league baseball and for 9 years was the varsity baseball coach for Gull Lake High School. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War, and worked as an assembler at General Motors for 39 years, retiring on December 1, 2004. He enjoyed golfing, working in the yard, mowing the lawn, attending NASCAR races and especially spending time with his family. Ken is survived by a son, Eric Galloway of Otsego; Eric’s mother, Joyce Galloway of Otsego; a granddaughter, Haley Nicolle Galloway; Ken’s companion of 18 years, Linda Birdsall of Otsego; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, David Galloway. Friends may meet with the family Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, MI

where services will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M., Funeral Celebrant, William Rose officiating. Military graveside honors by VFW Post #3030 will be held at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Diabetes Association or to the Kidney Foundation.
