Hugh A. Taylor

Hugh A. Taylor of Otsego, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Mr. Taylor was born August 5, 1921, in Trowbridge Township to Milo and Zelpha (Martin) Taylor and was a lifelong resident of the area. During WWII he served his country in the United State Navy. For 43 years he was employed at the MacSimBar Paper Mill in Otsego. Hugh loved the out-of-doors and during his leisure time enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. On February 25, 1941, he married the former Jean Burgess, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Jeanne (Richard) Burd of Martin, Hugh (Linda) Taylor of Charlotte, NC, Patricia Davis and Mary (Kurt) Huston both of Otsego; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Pat) Taylor of FL; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Ruth Augustine, Charles and Milo “Mike’ Taylor. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Burial of ashes will take place on Monday, October 4, 2010 at Mt. Home Cemetery in Otsego with military honors by VFW Post 3030. Contributions in memory of Hugh may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
