Donita was a cherished friend to me and Barb, Toni and Janet. We reunited a couple years ago after not seeing each other for 47 years..after graduation. We began doing lunches..then shopping trips, going to,shippshewanna, and arious other adventures. It won’t be the same without her. Her presence will be sadly missed. But we will however continue our adventures and do,so knowing she will be with us heart and spirt…..

Donita and I work together at Crestview Manor Nursing Home, Wyoming, MI in The Activities Dept. I say work together as we were truly a team. We had some really fun times and brought much happiness to our residents and family members. One instance I remember clearly and with fondness is when we both dressed with black pants and tops with large red hearts on us; we were then “singing telegrams” for Valentines Day. We sang, gave hugs and kisses with a dollar from staff or family member which went to fund other activities. Doni, Gary and family lived in Wyoming so we and our kids got to know each other well. When they moved to Plainwell we kept in touch. For periods we might loose contact for awhile but always kept each other in our thoughts and would reconnect as we did once we both started using face book. I am so happy that I was able to visit with Doni that day she passed away into Jesus’s loving arms. My friend had changed some in appearance but she was the same beautiful person inside that I had come to know and love. I will keep her family in my prayers as I know this is a very difficult time for them. Doni, I will definitely miss you my friend. Until we meet again……..
